Crawley Athletic Club athletes have been setting fire to the track at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

Southern Senior and U20 Indoor Championships

The last weekend (Feb 5th/6th) saw the SEAA Indoor championships and George Turner won gold in the Senior Men's pole vault with a clearance of 5.00m.

On the track Matt Overall scorched to a time of 48.48 to win the silver medal in the Senior Men's 400m.

With a leap of 5.86m Ruby Jerges won the U20 women's long jump, just short of her recent Club Record distance of 5.90m.

Will Sutton cleared 2.00m to take joint first in the U20 men's high jump. Will’s best leap set a new Club Record U20 indoor high jump record.

Jessica Lister set a new Crawley Athletic Club U20 women's indoor 200m Club Record of 25.91 when she finished third.

Lee Valley Middle Distance Open

Later in the week, Wednesday 9th Feb, two U17 Indoor Club Records fell in the 1500m.

Lauren Wormley ran 4:33.25 to set an inaugural U17 women's record, and also improve the U20 record of Emily Goodall (4:45.97 3rd Mar 2007).

Luke Newton ran 4:13.62 to improve the previous U17 men's record held by Bradley Stanger (4:33.65 20th Feb 2019).
